I remember reading Pride and Prejudice about ten years ago. What I distinctly remember about Jane Austen’s masterwork is that I thought it would be much better if Mr. Darcy had his head bitten off about half-way through.

Well, you can’t always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need.

Enter Pride and Prejudice and Zombies [2] which begins as follows, “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” From that point forward Miss Elizabeth Bennet finds herself embroiled in a battle of wit and manners with one Mr. Darcy, on the side, she finds herself in a much more literal battle with hordes of the undead intent on taking over the sleepy village of Meryton.

It’s a story that takes everything you liked about Pride and Prejudice, irons out the frustrating bits and takes you back the quaint and romantic world of Victorian corpse killing.

This book is highly recommend for any survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse who may also have access to a functioning time machine.
