For the more academic minded among us, I want to turn your attention to this paper written by Monica Murtaugh. It shows the links between Zombies, madness and the sociological and cultural context of Haiti. It takes a look at the Haitian Zombie from the standpoint of psychological disorder and tries to unravel why Haitian folklore is so enamored with the idea of zombification.
There is something really heartening that academia is finally taking the Zombie seriously. Take a look at today’s clip and see a class being offered by Campbell University in Kentucky – Zombie Awareness.
