Before Peter Jackson directed Lord of the Rings, he made some spectacularly hilarious horror movies. If you haven’t seen Bad Taste, you should go to your nearest emporium of cinematic delights and pickup a copy.
He also took his turn at the Zombie-genre with Braindead.
This is the story of the Rat-Monkey, a creature that transforms anything it bites into a zombie. Here’s the thing, by now you might assume that everyone would know that monkeys are not to be trifled with, I don’t think there has been a movie in the last 100 years where a monkey bite didn’t lead to some horrifying consequence.
Either way, this Rat-Monkey ends up in a New Zealand zoo and soon after the movie turns into a love story, chronicling the strife between a man, the woman that he loves and his mother, who just happens to have been transformed into a zombie.
It’s truly heart-warming.
In case you haven’t picked up on my next tip already, here it goes, if you see a monkey, don’t touch it, don’t get near it and definitely don’t try to capture it to put in your local zoo. That’s almost as dumb as trying to release it from a secret, government biological testing facility.
By the way, the clip below is the trailer for Bad Taste. I was serious, you need to watch it.
