I know that we have mostly been focused on the undead that can either rend your flesh from your body (Zombie Apocalypse) or those that come back from the “dead” confused to take up residence in your house (Haitian Zombies), but I wanted to detour back to philosophical Zombies for a second, as they are any interesting thought exercise (and I happened upon another good article about them).
A philosophical Zombie would be a human being that, for all intents and purposes behave exactly like a normal human being, however, in reality they had no consciousness. The question that philosophers would ask is whether this kind of creature can logically exist.
Since this article dives deeply into philosophy and doesn’t really mention bludgeoning and undead corpse of your Zombie duplicate over the head with a crowbar, I would consider it optional. However, a complete and varied understanding of the Zombie in all its incarnations could only serve to help you survive the Zombie Apocalypse.
