Always create more than you could ever possibly use because the strength of a storyteller is not in their ability to create, it’s in their ability to creatively edit. B-Roll is all the footage that is shot that isn’t directly related to the main story. It is the atmosphere or environmental shots, the stuff that gives the action place, form and context.
The more material you have to work with, the more clever you can end up being with the final product.
