What are you talking about? What’s the point?
The difference between a mindless (though potentially entertaining) series of action and a story is the point of reflection. That’s one of the first things we talked about. Your theme determines what that point of reflection will be, and why it exists the way that it does.
Take the time to think about your message and it will be a lot easier for you to fill in the plot details to serve it.
Before you tell me, I know this segment is a little weak but that’s because the idea is simple – pick your theme before you start building your story. Hm, I guess I should make up for it somehow. How about this. This, er, video from The Onion illustrates its underlyi… Just watch it.
