Bottom Line: Considering how interesting the main character is I found myself wishing that I could see him in a more dynamic role. Even so, if you watch a few episodes you will find that Zerk’s gripes and moans will grow on you.
Three time fragments ago, Captain Zerks Ganymedewski, and his ship the Venturi 553, disappeared without a trace. What happened to Zerks and his ship? No one knew until the recent discovery of the Venturi’s log capsule – its “black box”. As the League of Outstanding Planets begins reviewing the evidence from the log, the truth will be revealed.
Captain Fantastic? Well, Zerks certainly thinks so! However, the reality is perhaps just a bit different! Watch and find out for yourself as Zerks Log is revealed in this 18 episode sci-fi comedy web series.
Great use of green screen, great costumes, and an interesting visual style add to the overall appeal of this show. (Style 4)
At times it’s a little meandering and it makes you wish there was more meta-story to stitch it all together (Pacing 2.5)
This is a “slice of life” series. There isn’t too much overarching plot, but in a lot of ways that works for it because it gives them more opportunity to come up with interesting things for Zerk to gripe about. The meta plot does begin to develop later in the series and you should definitely stick around to see that. (Storytelling 3.5)
It’s a vlog aboard an alien space ship. You should be watching this right now for that alone. (Novelty 4)
