Bottom Line: Because of their short form, web sitcoms risk suffering from weak characterization and even weaker plot development — Meet the Mayfarers manages to overcome these challenges and provides a ruckus look at love, family and the lengths people will go to for lots and lots of money.
“Meet the Mayfarers” is the story of an estranged, dysfunctional family who is forced to live together for one year in order to get their grandfather’s massive inheritance. Trying to hide their hatred for each other to pretend to be the perfect family is going to be an impossible task for this group.
The episodes are really tightly written, surprisingly so in fact. Even though they are short, clocking in at under four minutes, you never feel short changed. (Pacing 4.5)
After a very short time you start to get attached to the characters, once that happens you really only have yourself to blame when you can’t stop watching. (Watchability 4)
