Initial Impressions: The creatures that give us good dreams and those who give us nightmares battle over the fate of a young child in Jamin Winan’s Ink.

This is by and far the coolest movie concept I’ve seen in recent history and if this trailer is any indication of how well it was executed I can only hope that eventually Ink finds its way to Florida.

Initial Impression: This is a teaser trailer in every sense of the word. There are enough dead bodies strewn around to give you a sense of the theme, but whether it will turn out to be supernatural or more terrestrial is still left to be determined.

The series is being put together by Timpanogos Films, a Utah-based film production company.

Initial Impression: I have a soft spot in my heart for the classic “interrogation scene,” especially when a filmmaker does it without it devolving into torture porn. This trailer from Nikolai McKinnon’s upcoming film Resurrected Cowboy is just plain fun to watch, the dialogue between Elvis (Ryan Locke) and Crazy (Joey Auzenne) feels really natural, in fact, if my best friend had just tried to kill me this is pretty much how I would see it playing out.

The question becomes whether the movie will revolve around this dynamic or whether it will play into the more well worn “dark revenge thriller” genre, I really hope it goes the first route.

Initial Impression: A quick look at the cast list will have horror fans jumping out of their seat in preparation for Octobers 5-part web series Fear Clinic. It stars Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) as a doctor who treats phobias by forcing his patients to live through their fears he is being supported by Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees) and Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie’s Halloween).

The plotline is standard horror fare, insert a crazy scientist with the ability to make people see scary things, mix it in with a cast of terror-prone patients and have everyone run around being scared until something bad happens or they find their way out cured. We have seen it all before, I know, but like most things the real question is not what this series is about but how well they manage to execute on standard tropes.

Considering this is higher budget than most attempts at horror on the web, the effects look really spectacular and you have a cast of horror legends at the helm, I am looking forward to seeing how they pull this off.

Initial Impression: In what looks to be one of Craig Frank’s (The Crew, Absolute Disaster) most dramatic roles, Complusion is the story of three mild mannered people who find themselves living out the dark compulsions that drive them. From the trailer we know that at least one of the people (Craig’s character) seems to have a thing for torture.

We don’t see enough good drama on the web so I’m looking forward to seeing where they take this. Creator Bernie Su is keeping a lot of the details under wraps but he told Tube Filter that they are, “trying to push the level of web drama to another level, one that is sophisticated and thematic with different levels of character development.”
